Korea Expressway and Kakao Team Up for Highway Safety
Korea Expressway Corporation and Kakao Collaborate on Real-Time Traffic Safety
Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) announced on August 29 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kakao Mobility to share traffic safety information and develop services aimed at preventing traffic accidents.
This collaboration is designed to effectively reduce safety accidents at highway work zones and vehicle accidents.
Through this partnership, KEC and Kakao Mobility will provide real-time highway work zone information and stationary vehicle alerts to drivers using Kakao Navi.
The real-time work zone information service will deliver up-to-the-minute updates on work hours and locations, helping drivers anticipate and avoid potential accidents in these areas.
Additionally, the stationary vehicle alert service will integrate traffic data collected by KEC with information from Kakao Mobility to quickly inform drivers of unexpected obstacles on the road, further aiding in accident prevention.
Kwon Han-joon, Director at Korea Expressway Corporation, stated, “We expect this MOU to significantly reduce safety incidents and vehicle accidents on highways. We are committed to providing real-time traffic information to help decrease traffic accidents.”
