Premium Mobility with Hyundai Mobis’ Advanced Sound System

Hyundai Mobis has introduced a groundbreaking technology aimed at transforming vehicle interior design. On February 12, the company announced the development of the ‘Moving Speaker’ system, which rotates in sync with the movement of in-car displays.

This innovative feature optimizes sound quality based on driving conditions while also enhancing the luxury and differentiation of vehicle interiors.The Moving Speaker system is designed to work in perfect harmony with Hyundai Mobis’ world-first rollable display, which moves up and down depending on the driving situation.

When the vehicle is in autonomous mode or stationary, the display expands to its full size, providing navigation, music, and video content. At this stage, the Moving Speaker tilts backward, directing sound towards the windshield to maintain optimal acoustic performance.

Conversely, during driving, the display retracts to about one-third of its full size to minimize distractions, and the speakers adjust their angles to face the driver for a clearer audio experience. Hyundai Mobis stated, “By synchronizing the display and speaker movements, we aim to create a more immersive in-car entertainment experience while further elevating the luxury appeal of vehicle interiors.”Hyundai Mobis has already pioneered various cutting-edge display technologies.

At CES 2024, the company showcased the ‘Holographic Windshield Transparent Display,’ alongside its previously developed ‘Rollable Display,’ ‘Swivel Display,’ and ‘QL Display,’ all of which represent world-first advancements in the industry.

In the field of sound technology, Hyundai Mobis has strengthened its global market presence through a collaboration with Meridian, a renowned premium audio brand from the UK. The company is also accelerating its efforts in open innovation to develop specialized in-vehicle acoustic technologies.

With the Moving Speaker technology, Hyundai Mobis has taken a major step toward revolutionizing the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) sector, enhancing user experiences and driving convenience through integrated innovations.
