Socar Zones Open at Incheon Airport with Up to 60% Discount
Socar Opens New Socar Zones at Incheon International Airport
Mobility innovation platform Socar (CEO Jae-Wook Park) announced on the 1st that it has opened new Socar Zones at Incheon International Airport to meet the growing demand for airport transportation.
Socar has secured 20 dedicated parking spaces in the parking lots of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Incheon International Airport, marking the first time the company has operated Socar Zones at an airport.
With the establishment of Socar Zones at the airport, travelers now have more options for airport transportation. The most significant change is that customers can now rent and return vehicles directly at the airport Socar Zones.
Previously, users had to use the “Bureum” service to call a vehicle to the airport two hours before their rental period began and then return the vehicle at their destination. Now, customers can rent a vehicle at the Socar Zone and drive to their destination or rent a vehicle at the airport and return it to the airport, making round trips possible.
Last year, 60% of customers returning Socar vehicles at the airport used the “Bureum” service, while 40% used the one-way service. Both services required customers to find parking spaces within the airport and report the vehicle’s location. Now, customers can simply return the vehicle to the dedicated Socar parking spaces and conveniently take a shuttle bus to the airport terminals.
Socar has registered a total of 6,000 vehicles for the 20 secured parking spaces. These vehicles are available for one-way service from Socar Zones within 70km of the airport in the Seoul metropolitan area.
The fleet includes a variety of popular models for airport transport, such as the spacious compact car The New Ray, midsize sedans, SUVs, large sedans, and the 9-seater Carnival.
To celebrate the opening of the airport Socar Zones, Socar is offering a rental fee discount promotion until the end of August. Customers who use the round-trip service to rent and return vehicles at the airport Socar Zones for 24 hours or more will receive a 60% discount on rental fees, regardless of the vehicle model.
Additionally, customers using the one-way service to rent a vehicle at the airport Socar Zone and return it to their desired destination will receive a 50% discount on both the rental fee and the return location change fee. Discounts apply to rentals of 2 hours or more, with the return location change fee discount capped at 20,000 KRW.
Socar’s Head of Carsharing Division, Shin-Myung Kim, stated, “We have established a service hub to strategically target the demand for airport transportation. We will continue to enhance our services to make carsharing a viable alternative for various airport travel needs.”
